                               ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Marion County, Mississippi, Board of Supervisors will receive un-priced bid proposals for one
used tractor and bush hog, in the following manner, to wit:
Unpriced bid proposals will be accepted until 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the
office of the Marion County Board of Supervisors, 215 Broad Street, Columbia, Mississippi 39429,
or by electronic bid submission. In the event that the location of the used tractor and bush hog is
outside of a 100 mile radius of Columbia, Mississippi, the proposed bidder must transport, at its own
cost, the said equipment to Columbia, Mississippi, for inspection by Marion County, Mississippi,
prior to February 18, 2020. Submitted proposals will be evaluated and vendors submitting
acceptable offers will be invited to submit priced bids. Electronic bids and/or reserve auction bids
can be submitted at www.centralbidding.com. For any questions relating to the electronic bidding
process, please call Central Bidding at (225) 810-4814.
The equipment offered shall be according to minimum specifications therefor in the office of the
Chancery Clerk of Marion County, Mississippi. Specifications are also available through Central
Bidding at www.centralbidding.com.
Bidding will be held by electronic reverse auction on Monday, February 18, 2020, starting at 10:00
a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m. at www.centralbidding.com. Alternatively, written bids shall be sealed
and clearly labeled on the outside of the bid envelope “Tractor and Bush Hog - District No. 2 and District No. 4” and
delivered to the office of the Marion County Board of Supervisors at the above address.
The Board of Supervisors of Marion County, Mississippi, reserves the right to utilize “anti-sniping”
for reverse auctions. Anti-sniping is a tool that automatically extends the bid time for a reverse
auction by fifteen (15) minutes if a vendor places a bid in the final five (5) minutes of the reverse
auction. The anti-sniping effect will auto-extend the reverse auction bid time any time a bid is
placed in the last five (5) minutes of the reverse auction and can auto-extend the reverse auction
multiple times until the bidding on the reverse auction ends.
The Board of Supervisors of Marion County, Mississippi, reserves the right to reject any and all bids
and to waive any and all informalities.

Demolition of Gymnasium at the Marion County BusinessPlex 

Marion County, Mississippi

Sealed bids for the demoltion of the Gymnasium at the Marion County BusinessPlex and the sale of surplus property asising from the demolition will be received by the Marion County Board of Supervisors until 10:00 AM local time on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the offices of the Marion County Board of Supervisors located at 215 Broad Street, Columbia, MS 39429 and shortly thereafter will be opened and publicly read.

The work involved in the project included demolition of the existing gymnasium and associated items of work and the sale of surplus personal property, including, but not limited to fixtures and scrap metal arising from the demolition as described in the project Construction Drawings and Contract Documents.  All documents required for bidding purposes may be obtained from Dungan Engineering, P. A., 1574 Highway 98 East, Columbia, Mississippi 39429, (601) 731-2600.

Bidders choosing to submit electronically are required to contact the Marion County Board of Supervisors at (601) 736-1232 for information regarding electronic bidding requirements.

Bid preparation will be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders bound in the documents.  The Marion County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and or all bids.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

MARION COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY-WIDE PAVING PROJECT

MARION COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI

Sealed bids for the County-Wide Paving Project for the Marion County Board Of Supervisors in Marion County, Mississippi, will be received by the Marion County Board of Supervisors, Mississippi, until 10:00 AM local time on March 16, 2020, at the Board Room located at 215 Broad Street, Columbia, MS  39429, and shortly thereafter will be opened and publicly read.

The work involved in the project includes surface preparation, base repairs, leveling, and overlay of various sites in Marion County, Mississippi.  The materials shall meet the requirements of the plans and contract documents, as well as, the Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction. 

Plans and Contract Documents are on file in the office of the Marion County Board of Supervisors, Columbia, Mississippi.  Plans and proposals may be secured upon payment of $100.00, which is not refundable, from the office of Dungan Engineering, P.A., 1574 Highway 98 East, Columbia, Mississippi 39429.  Bidders choosing to submit electronically are required to contact the Marion County Board of Supervisors at 601-736-7382 for information regarding electronic bidding requirements.

Bidders shall bid and the award, if made, will be made to the lowest, qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities.  However, the Marion County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

A bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid will be required. The bid bond or certified check will be returned immediately to unsuccessful bidders. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposals will not be considered in making the award.

A performance bond, or equal, in the full amount of the contract will be required of the successful bidder.   In lieu of a performance bond the successful bidder may post with the Marion County Board of Supervisors, the full amount of the bid, in cash or its equivalent, conditioned for the prompt, proper and efficient performance of the contract; said cash or its equivalent to be held until the successful completion of the project.

Attention is called to the fact that contracts exceeding $50,000 require contractors to be licensed under applicable laws of the State of Mississippi and have a certificate of responsibility.
